It is hard to believe that we are officially half way through the school year after today but as the saying goes, time flies when you're having fun!!
Learning in 3G
Last week in English, we finished writing our fantastic stories. They were so fabulous in fact that we decided to display them in our classroom! This week we've started looking at all the different features of information books and texts. Next week we will continue with this topic, and begin to use different sources, such as the internet, to gather information for our own information text!
In Science, we're continuing having fun with our water topic! Last week we worked for DEWA and cleaned contaminated water using various materials. This week, we explored different clear liquids and investigated whether they were drinkable or not by observing, smelling, etc. We learned that even though the liquid was clear and looked clean, it doesn't mean it is! Next week, we are investigating what happens when we mix materials with water. Just a little clue... the children will be bringing back the 60's with their scientific creations next week... and will even get to bring them home! Watch this space!

In Topic, we've been looking at how we use water, differentiating between the 'want' and 'need' for water. We will be continuing to explore this next week ask we observe photographs of people using water around the world. This week, the children have an opportunity to see how much water they use at home for their home learning. Do we use too much? What are the effects of this?
The Cylinders Math group in 3G have been busy exploring 2D and 3D shapes this week. We even created the skeletons for some 3D shapes! Have a look at the fun we had in our learning.
