This week's learning
What a fantastic first week of term 3 we have just had! We enjoyed being paleontologists and digging for fossils. Science day was also very enjoyable, enjoy the photos.
In English this week we were looking at newspaper reports. We learned lots of terminology to do with articles, reports etc….

We will be carrying out some scientific investigations based around fossils and eggs!

In Maths we will be learning about money from the UK.

3E created some fabulous armatures this week in the style of Alberto Giacometti. See some of the photos and judge for yourself!
In English this week we learned out to write calligram, acrostic and kenning poems. Here is a kenning poem written by 3E –hope you enjoy it!(I didntvwhavs any input☺️)

We are looking forward to our new dinosaur topic!Roarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! We are starting to look at newspapers in English and their associated style of writing.
We will also be celebrating Science Day on Thursday 16th April.

3E celebrated their class assembly this week. What a success it was! Thank you to all the parents and visitors who attended. Singing, dancing, drama, science experiments and lots more was shared by the children. The children were amazing.
Next week's learning
We are looking forward to enjoying the Year 6 production. We are looking at various styles of poetry in English and in Maths we will be looking at Data Handling.
We will also be competing our topic Shaping Up!
This week is the last week for the existing enhancement classes. We are super excited about next term’s new enhancement classes.

What a wonderful week we have just had. Lots of learning and fun was had, by all the children and the adults! We are continuing our topic of Shaping Up. On Sunday we tested out some of the circuits the children designed. It was challenging but very enjoyable!
We were looking at open and closed questioning in English. We read a variety of formal and informal letters and extracted language features and identified the structure of letter writing.
In Maths this week we learned how to scale up and scale down using multiplication and division.
Next week's learning We are going on a trip to Pizza Express on Thursday 12th March. We will be making our own healthy pizzas. Please return the consent form😄

Finally, a big thank you to Mrs. Gondal for organising our stall at the Spring Fair. A wonderful fun day was had by all. |
